MICS Consultation with Stakeholders

On May 15, 2024, Tonga Statistics Department conducted the MICS (Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey) consultation with stakeholders. 🌺 MICS is an international household survey program that collects international, regional, and national comparable data on wide range of indicators capturing situations of children, women, and men in Tonga. This is the second time Tonga is conducting the MICS.

The focus was to assess data gaps and identify indicators relevant to stakeholders in their work area. These indicators will guide further preparatory work for data collection towards the end of the year.

Tonga Statistics Department acknowledged and grateful for the valuable insights and feedback provided by all participants from the Prime Minister’s Office (National Planning), Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Internal Affairs (Gender, Youth, Disability & Social Protection), Ministry of Police (Domestic Violence Unit), MEIDECC (Environment, Climate Change, NEMO), Tonga Family Health Association, Tonga National Visual Impairment Association, Tonga National Youth Congress, Women and Children Crisis Center, Ma’a Fafine mo e Famili Inc/For Women and Families, Tonga National Center for Women and Children, Salvation Army.
