The Minister responsible for Statistics, also holding the portfolios for Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Revenue and Customs, Hon. Tevita Lavemaau visited the Tonga Statistics Department on 3rd June, 2020. This is part of the minister’s commitment to encouraging dialogue between his office and the department on current issues and developments.
Statistics Department presented on their organizational structure, and the divisional roles and outputs, to be wrapped up by the Government Statistician; Dr. Viliami K. Fifita on the national roles of the Statistics Department and National Planning and the importance of statistical development in the National Statistical System (NSS).
