TONGA STATISTICS DEPARTMENT SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE VILLAGE PROFILE OUTREACH PROGRAM TO THE ISLAND OF ‘EUA
The Tonga Statistics Department (TSD) has successfully concluded its Village Profile Outreach Program to the island of ‘Eua, delivering detailed village-level data from the 2021 Population Census on Thursday, 12 June 2025. The program was led by the Government Statistician, Mr. Sione Lolohea, accompanied by staff from various departmental work programs.
The outreach began in the village of Ta’anga, continued to Sapa’ata, and concluded in Mata’aho, allowing communities from the Eastern, Central, and Western Districts to participate more easily. The initiative provided an opportunity for TSD to present detailed results to the villages, based primarily on data collected during the most recent Population Census in 2021. It also served as a platform for community members to share ideas that may support preparations for the upcoming Population and Housing Census scheduled for November 2026.
