Tonga Statistics Department Completes Village Profile Outreach Program in Ha’apai

The Tonga Statistics Department (TSD) successfully concluded its Village Profile Outreach Program in the Ha’apai island group on Thursday, 19 June 2025. The program was led by the Government Statistician, accompanied by staff from various divisional programs within the Department.

Community sessions were held in the districts of Pangai-Lifuka and Foa, where TSD presented district- and village-level reports based on data from the 2021 Tonga Population and Housing Census. These sessions also provided an opportunity for communities to share feedback, raise concerns, and contribute ideas to help inform preparations for the upcoming Population Census, scheduled for November 2026.

TSD extends its sincere appreciation to the district and town officers, church and community leaders, and the people of Ha’apai for their warm hospitality and active participation throughout the outreach. We look forward to ongoing collaboration to ensure that everyone is counted and represented in future statistical reporting.

Printed copies of the village profiles are available at the Office of the Governor of Ha’apai. Digital versions both English and Tongan translation can also be downloaded from our website via the link below.
